Alias Studio Tutorial

Hi, Today I have screenshots of my model of a front wing/fender
where the tangent break running down the body side has to washout without trace when it intersects the radial wheel arch “eyebrow”.The tutorial which is absolutely First Class is commissioned by Autodesk Alias Studio and is the work of

Ideally this tutorial requires Autodesk 2011/2012 software. The tutorial consists of a 30 min. video which you can access if you sign up to the Autodesk Alias Learning sitehttp://aliasdesign.autodesk.com/learning/tutorials
In the above image we can see that a lot of patches have to be created to arrive at the high finish surface that this tutorial is aimed at.If we look carefully at the fillet running along the body-side we can see that 5 surfaces have to be created for the fillet alone to achieve the washout effect.
The principal learning objectives here are
- The use of transitional surfaces
- The use of the Detach tool to obtain Crv. Cont. by shortening surface spans
- The use of the NEW Align tool for Edge Align and Vector Align
- Projecting Normal the surface boundary of a transitional surface and then aligning the transitional surf. to the newly formed C-O-S. The screenshot doesn’t do justice to the quality of the wing, but I think it’s looking quite good
