Throw Down Some Simple Crvs
make three deg 3 crvs that capture the character of the main part of the back surf (crv 3 is a guide only) The crvtr. on the blueprint needs 2 sets of surfs in the patch-layout and is not simple
Our model will use just 1 surf to form the Back
Notice that the crvs accelerate. To do this we need 4 CV’s. =deg 3
The Crvtr. Comb Tells All
Vert crvs have a beautifully progressive shape
Horiz. crvs. accelerate at the out board end
Build a deg 3by 3 Rail
Intercept Body with Back Surf
With the Intercept tool pick all the surfs. Now un-pick the back & hit GO
Now pick the back & hit go again
Unwanted Body Surfs Trimmed-Out
It is good practise to Trim_Convert all the Body surfs. now
Add the 2 Straight COS as Pictured
Delete the bit of the COS between the RH ends of the new COS
Trim-Out the Back to create this shape.
This cannot be trim-converted, as it does not have 4 bound. edges
It is trick to blend with this tennis racket shape, so if you are shaky with the Blend Controls, make your life easier and trim off the handle bit now

Surface Fillet Control
This is a very tricky tool and requires loads of practice, but it is used all the time, so you know what I am going to say:

Surface Filleting is NOT for Kids
On complicate shapes it rarely works perfectly, first time and can give a range of problems, like:
- gaps at ends of fillets
- problems when using a big rad. on tight corners
- failing to build
etc.
Here (above) I had a problem, so I have deleted the fillet and the COS and aligned a deg. 5 crv to a good COS. I have put in a 3 point arc and then aligned my deg 5 crv at both ends
