The Main Part of the Wing/Fender Finished

Have you eaver had that feeling that you are actually getting somewhere after a long period of slaving away?

It’s been really hard for students following this fender construction, but the result although still only at 60% perfect, I am really pleased with. The body-side feature washes out imperceivably in this example, into the radial wheel arch and I love looking at it. It’s pure sculpture to me.

I worked with Satoshi Wada at Audi in 1999

modelling his new Audi A6. I was a Clay Modeller then and Satoshi was the Designer. He is now Senior Exterior Designer. Apart from designing vehicles he is a very good sculptor and it was through him that I gained the realization that a well styled automobile is actually a piece of Dynamic Sculpture.

It was Satoshi Wada who introduced me to Alias. If you don’t find this an object of great beauty, then perhaps Alias is not for you!Here-s an email comment I got from a student engaged in modelling this component:”It’s really hard, but I am undestanding Alias a little more each day. Although I still have days when I want to descend from the 27th floor without the aid of the lift!”Well to be honest we all feel like that when we get stuck on an aspect of a model. The trick is to take a break, talk to another modeller an come back with a fresh view. Sometimes I take a break from a difficult surf. blending problem and think up a new strategy, on returning I’ll delete thye whole area and build a new patch layout. Everybody has to ask for help sometimes! The surface reflects light in a beautiful way. I have used the (2010) Surface/Fillet-Flange tool to create the door opening fillet flange, although I haven’t reworked the detail where the fillet flange runs past the body side feat._____________________________________________About the author:I achieved success because I was totally committed and because I had people who were prepared to help me. I believe in giving back and I do so to people who can demonstrate their total commitment to becoming competent Alias Studio modellers.________________________________________________________________

For student’s who have the objective of finding a CAD job in the near future, I still teach One to One students and all of these students get Automotive Modeling or Design/Modeling jobs, so it’s a great investment to make. The hourly rate is very high and there are vacancies in UK. France, Germany, Sweden, Spain, USA, Brazil etc. I can only take a maximum of 5-7 students at any one time. I teach all levels right up to Post Graduates. I have never had a Private student fail to get an Alias Automotive job (Companies include Ferrari, GM, Lotus, Opel, Audi Seat etc. ). If you wish to apply for a place, please email me with all your details.
